A business analyst (according to Discover Data Science) is in charge of understanding a businesss changing needs, and providing technological solutions to improve its processes and systems. Thus, a business analyst is often thought of as the link between the business and IT departments.

Work Environment

The Business Analyst work a lot with Computer and they spend most of their time in the office trying to analyse the data obtained about their Business or that of their Client. They may be required to travel from time to time to the different business locations they are observing to collect data. Other times they may speak with Customers of the Business they are analysing as well in order to understand the business better. They may work full time as Consultants in a Consulting Company or other Big Companies. Some Business Analyst are self employed and offer their services directly to companies that need them
